A driver who led police on a chase Friday morning was killed after crashing their car on Nebraska just south of Hillsborough.
Police say the driver tried to run over two pedestrians before leading officers through the streets of Tampa.
The driver has been identified as 25-year-old Kathleen Trombley of Brooksville. Her passenger, Patrick Simmons, suffered a broken leg.
Police say she was involved in a bar fight at the Interstate Lounge.
An officer says he witnessed the driver go onto a sidewalk and try and run over two people. One jumped out of the way, while another was knocked over, police said.
The officer pursued the person southbound on Nebraska. The car lost control at Giddens and crashed.
All lanes of Nebraska Avenue were closed for a few hours, but it has been reopened.
