The Florida Orchestra is one of the best in the nation and based in the Tampa Bay Area. It costs millions to keep it going, and a small percentage of the budget is taxpayer supported.
About $200,000 comes from the cities of Tampa and St. Petersburg, which equates to roughly 2 percent of the budget, according to numbers supplied by The Florida Orchestra.
$150,000 is gifted and the City of Tampa pays
about $50,000 for concerts. St. Petersburg also offers the Orchestra reduced
rent.
Do you think the taxpayer support is worth it, or wasted?
