Parents in Hillsborough County cannot believe what was going on just a few feet from an elementary school where their kids go every day.
A tip led investigators to an old flower shop on Gibsonton Drive where they found drugs and guns, including assault rifles.
The old flower shop is directly across the street from Gibsonton Elementary School. Sawed off shotguns, AK-47 style rifles and silencers were available for potential buyers.
It was all out of a makeshift gun shop run by convicted criminals.
"Ten are convicted felons who sold 35 firearms. They all have extensive criminal histories," said Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee.
All were arrested as part of "Operation Ceasefire." Investigators also found pills, meth and crack cocaine.
"We've run across guns. It's a common occurrence, but these guys were sometimes seven-time convicted felons who were out trading these guns on the street," Gee said.
Warrants have been issued for three other suspects.
It's important to reiterate this wasn't a large gun bust as much as it was a dangerous one. That's because it involved felons, heavy-duty weapons, and we're told gunshots were indeed fired during the six-month investigation.
