Atlanta police have arrested one man and are looking for two others accused of smashing a stolen truck through a CVS in southwest Atlanta on Tuesday morning.
Authorities say that the truck used in the attempted smash-and-grab was stolen from Matthew Batisse's driveway early Tuesday.
"I heard, like a smash and then I starting running toward the front and I heard my engine revved up, and next thing I know, I see my truck backing out of the driveway," Batisse said.
Police say the crooks drove straight to the CVS and tried to smash through the doors, but security bars stopped them in their tracks.
Police say the driver, identified as Sydarius Andrews, took off. Police chased him until he lost control on Beecher Street about a mile away, smashing into a couple of cars and taking out mailboxes.
After crashing, police say Andrews took off running down the street. They caught up with him behind a home.
Authorities say that Andrews' two accomplices are still on the run.
Batisse said that he's angry that the thieves ruined his truck.
"When he lost control, he hit something and it tore it up real good," said Batisse. "I think you should work for what you want just like I do."
Police say Andrews' accomplices were in another vehicle, which had also been stolen.
