NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A man who was in between subway cars fell onto the tracks and was killed when the train rode over him, authorities said.

The accident happened at about 4 p.m. 125 Street Station on the Lexington Avenue line in Harlem, officials said.

Witnesses said the man had been defecating when he fell, the AP reported.

In an unrelated incident, a second person was injured on the platform in the same station, the MTA said. Medics rushed that person, a homeless man, to Harlem Hospital in serious condition. He had suffered a broken pelvis and gashes, police said.

Subway service was affected for several hours but resumed with residual delays, the MTA said.
