The high-profile he said, she said continued again as Bubba the Love Sponge and Todd "MJ" Schnitt returned to a Tampa courtroom Tuesday.
Lawyers for the radio shock jocks are trying to pick a jury in the defamations lawsuit that pits the rivals against each other, and lawyers are getting personal with potential jurors, asking not-so-often heard questions in court.
Jurors were asked questions like: Who do you listen to on the radio? Were you bullied? What do you think about bullying? How have you handled a situation where someone said something nasty about you?
At one point, MJ's attorneys even asked jurors if they were fans of Bubba's show.
"Does anyone in this room have a Bubba Army sticker on their car?" asked attorney Phil Campbell. "Does anyone in this room have a Bubba Army flag? Does anyone in this room have a Bubba Army T-shirt? The broader question is does anyone own any Bubba merchandise?"
No one raised their hand.
Schnitt is bringing the lawsuit against Bubba, claiming he defamed Schnitt and his wife on his radio show.
About 50 potential jurors have been called back. Attorneys said jurors will continue to be questioned Tuesday, with a jury hopefully seated by the end of the day.
After that, opening arguments will begin.
The trial is expected to last as long as three weeks, exposing the "radio wars" that went on between the rival DJs for years.
