Deputies arrest man for violating terms of pre-trial release

A 60-year-old Poinciana man arrested last year on pornography charges is in trouble with the law again.

Jerry D. Ulrey was charged Friday with violating the terms of his pre-trial release. He was booked in the Polk County Jail where he is being held without bond.

According to a Polk County Sheriff's Office report Detectives received information from the suspect's family that he had been using illegal narcotics and was verbally abusive.

On Thursday deputies visited Ulrey's residence and found him living in ‘deplorable' conditions in the master bedrooms. Witnesses say the suspect rarely left the room, which contained an I-Pad – deemed a violation of his pretrial release.

Also inside the room deputies noticed a large amount of trash and old food strewn about.

Ulrey was arrested last January on 21 counts of possession of obscene materials. He is awaiting trial on those charges.

Also found in the bedroom was K-2, a form of synthetic marijuana. A warrant was obtained for Ulrey's arrest and he was taken into custody.

Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
