TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Police officers swarmed the streets near the University of South Florida this afternoon after someone opened fire outside of a police station.

According to TPD, a gray Dodge Pickup with two people pulled into the Tampa Police Department's District 2 office -- which is on 30th Street across from Busch Gardens -- and fired at least one shot at another vehicle.

Police said the truck fled into the neighborhood west of the police headquarters and then north on 15th Street to Fowler. It hit another vehicle at Fowler and 15th and fled then eastbound towards USF.

Officers eventually caught up to the truck on Bull Run near Fowler Avenue.  The two suspects were taken into custody for questioning.

No other details were immediately available.
