A tanker heading northbound on I-275 overturned at Memorial Highway early this afternoon, spilling debris into the road and blocking traffic for three hours.
FHP troopers say Daniel Clemente Rocha was behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer hauling "recycling materials and debris," but he took the on-ramp from S.R. 60 too fast and ended up overturning.
The view from FDOT cams in the Westshore area showed the red truck on its side with trash strewn across the highway.
For three hours, a front-end loader worked to clear the mess as traffic backed up along the Howard Frankland and the southbound Veteran's Expressway.
Just before 3 p.m., the highway reopened.
Rocha, 60, received only minor injuries. He was cited for careless driving.
