Woman found dead in St. Petersburg motel

Pinellas detectives say a Gulfport woman was found dead in St. Petersburg, and they are investigating her death as a homicide.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Destynee Nekole Burkes was found in a room at the LaQuinta motel at 4999 34th Street North.

Investigators are not saying how she died. They say they are talking to witnesses to determine what led to her death.
