Deputies in Manatee County have made an arrest in the November fatal stabbing of a Bradenton man.
Juan Santiago Reyes-Tapia was getting ready to leave for work in the early morning hours of November 3rd when an unknown assailant stabbed him in the chest.
The 49-year-old man was transported to Blake Medical Center where he later died.
On Friday the Manatee County Sheriff's Office issued a statement saying Pablo Estrada committed the crime. Estrada, 21, was already in the Manatee County Jail at the time of his arrest awaiting trial on robbery and other charges.
He is now facing one count of felony murder. Estrada is being held without bond.
According to a MCSO report deputies were dispatched to 919 61st Ave. Circle East on November 3rd in response to an assault call. When they arrived they found the victim unresponsive in the driveway.
Witnesses say a man approached the victim asking him about a truck in front of the residence just before the fatal stabbing. MCSO detectives pursued several leads and after going over evidence and witness statements developed enough probable cause to arrest Estrada.
Twelve days after the homicide MCSO deputies arrested Estrada on robbery with a deadly weapon charges stemming from an incident that occurred in October.
The suspect is also facing a violation of probation charges stemming from a 2009 burglary charge.
