An arsonist is at it again in St. Petersburg. Another home has been set on fire and it isn't the first time.
This makes the fifth home set on fire in the Causeway Isle neighborhood on St. Petersburg in a couple of years.
Investigators believe it was the same person who set the house on fire before, in late November.
In both cases, the small fires burned out before causing too much damage.
The first fire at this particular address was set outside near an air conditioning unit. The latest was inside, but again self-extinguished either because of not enough accelerant or not enough fuel.
Police don't even know exactly when it happened except sometime over the last three days.
What's more worrisome are three similar arsons within a very short distance in recent months.
There were a lot of concerned residents, many of them now putting up security cameras and looking at who's up to what.
Which arson investigators appreciate.
All of the arsons have been in either vacant homes or happened when owners were away from their home.
That has a lot of people reluctant to go away on vacation without a house sitter.
St. Pete police think sooner or later, all of that citizen diligence is going to help catch this firebug.
