The search is still on for a big Florida Lottery winner, but at least someone is cashing a check.
The St. Petersburg Sweetbay on 34th Street that sold the winning ticket was presented with a $25,000 check Wednesday. It sold the ticket in the Dec. 26 drawing.
The winning ticket is worth $50 million, and the winner still has not come forward.
"It's crazy," store manager Neil Ford said. "The excitement has been awesome. (We) don't know who it is yet – awesome they came to the store and bought the winning ticket."
Ford said he was hoping it was one of his employees that won the big prize, but he's pretty sure that's not the case because everyone keeps coming to work.
The mystery remains unsolved, and whoever did win the big prize has 172 days left to claim it.
