SWAT team called to St. Petersburg residence

Police say a SWAT team had to be called out Wednesday morning when a 58-year-old man started waving a handgun outside a residence in St. Petersburg.

It happened at 526 Grande Avenue South, and police say he did fire the gun and threaten to harm himself.

Negotiators arrived at the scene, however, and the man, who has not been identified, has been taken into custody without incident.
