HOLIDAY (FOX 13) -
Deputies say a Pasco County man murdered his father and then set his body on fire after an argument over the cleanliness of his room.
The body of Rene Dominique Vercruysse was found inside a home in Holiday on New Year's Eve.
Deputies say his 22-year-old son, Baron, dragged his body into the bedroom of their home, doused it in gasoline, and lit it on fire.
Baron Vercruysse is charged with first-degree murder and is making his first appearance in court Wednesday.
The fire was contained to a bedroom in the home, which is located at 5617 Mosaic Drive.
A medical examiner has determined Rene Vercruysse died of blunt force trauma.
