It took them a few days, but deputies say they've finally got their man.
An arrest has been made in connection to a murder just days before Christmas. Gabriel Rivera-Pagan, 24, is being held in jail for the death of Ovidio Sanchez, who was found stabbed to death in a drainage ditch.
Deputies say Rivera-Pagan killed Sanchez on Dec. 23 during a fight over $10 at Angel's Smoke Shop in Tampa.
Another man was also stabbed in the altercation. He is recovering in the hospital.
Rivera-Pagan made his first appearance in court Monday. He was denied bond and accused of first-degree murder.
