Nabb's vehicle left the roadway, overturned and struck a steel power pole on Causeway Blvd. on Saturday.
TAMPA (FOX 13) -
A 35-year-old Apollo Beach man died Saturday night from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash on Causeway Blvd. in Tampa.
Ryan Russell Nabb was pronounced dead at the scene just after 5 p.m.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Nabb was traveling east in his 2004 Ford Explorer near the intersection of 45th St. when he lost control of the vehicle at a curve in the roadway.
Investigators say Nabb was driving at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred. The SUV left the south side of the road and veered onto the grass shoulder where it started to rotate in a counter-clockwise motion.
The vehicle overturned before striking a 90-foot-tall steel power pole. It came to rest in a retention ditch just south of the roadway.
Nabb, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected. It is not yet known if alcohol played a factor.
The investigation continues.
