LECANTO (FOX 13) -
An elderly Citrus County man died Saturday afternoon following a one-vehicle crash in the parking lot of the Diamond Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lecanto.
Peter A. Costello, 86, was transported to Citrus Memorial Hospital where he later died.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report this incident occurred just before 2 p.m. Costello was traveling north in the lot in his 2012 Dodge Journey when he lost control of the vehicle and struck an unoccupied SUV.
Investigators believe a medical condition caused Costello to lose control of his vehicle. Alcohol was not a factor and he was wearing his seatbelt.
No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
