Polk deputies were dispatched to the scene on West Alamo Dr. just after 7 p.m. Friday night.Authorities in Polk County are seeking the public's help in locating and bringing to justice a home invasion suspect.
The crime occurred just after 7 p.m. Friday on West Alamo Dr. in Lakeland.
According to a Polk County Sheriff's Office report an unknown white male wearing a mask pepper sprayed a man walking out of his residence. He then grabbed the victim and forced him back inside.
The victim and his cousin struggled with the suspect and fought with him in the front yard of the home. The alleged criminal fled the scene on foot and was last seen near the intersection of Dimbath Ave. and West Alamo Dr.
The suspect is described as a white male, with brown hair, approximately 5'8" to 5'9" tall. Witnesses say he is between 25 and 34 years of age and was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and black sweat pants with white stripes down the sides.
The suspect may have a head injury after being struck several times during the scuffle with the victims.
