The new unemployment numbers are out, and they are the lowest they have been in five years. The rate for Hillsborough County and Florida are now the same, both down to 8.1 percent.
"I don't see it," William White told FOX 13 at Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance. White is an electrician with 35 years experience.
"I haven't had a bite in a year and a half now. As a matter of fact, I have one week left of unemployment and I don't have a clue what I am going to do after that."
A lot of other people are on thin ice financially as well. There are 50,000 people looking for jobs in Hillsborough County alone.
Michael Howard is just one of them. He has been job hunting since September when the jewelry store was working in closed.
"I have had a nominal amount of nibbles," but no offers, he said.
Even though the numbers are encouraging to experts, many unemployed people are worried about making ends meet until they can land a job.
"What is your vision for 2013? Do you think there is a job out there waiting for you?," FOX 13 asked Crystal Ayala.
"If they're talking about the economy moving up, I hope there is a job out there for me. Somewhere, somehow...I am gonna get it," she said.
