A system of storms pounding the south will bring showers and storms to our area Wednesday, with cooler temperatures in the waiting room.
FOX 13 meteorologist Lindsay Milbourne said a line of storms will move through the nature coast after sunrise and then move through the Tampa area this afternoon. However, the risk for severe weather in our area is low.
"It's the tail end of this system, and it will be working its way through our area locally," she said.
The enormous storm has dumped sleet and snow across the country and has brought tornadoes to southern states, claiming several lives already. States in the northeast are now bracing for the storm.
Milbourne said we'll get the very tail end of the system, and after it moves through, cooler temperatures will follow.
It will be brief, though. A high of 63 on Thursday is followed by highs in the lower 70s this weekend.
