Richard Law wasn't the type of man to disappear for long periods of time.
That's why the 77-year-old Tampa man's family became worried when they couldn't locate him on Friday morning.
"He was a good man, he was an honest man," is how his wife of 44 years, Jacqueline Law describes her husband.
Sunday Law's worst fears were confirmed when divers with the Tampa Police Department recovered his body from the Hillsborough River. The waterway is approximately one block from the Law's residence.
While Jacqueline was certainly heartbroken, she now has closure.
"I'm ok now I know where he is," she said after receiving the news from authorities on Sunday. "It was the not knowing that was killing me."
Investigators say the dive team searched the river with sonar for three days. Law's body was discovered between the Columbus and Boulevard bridges in Tampa.
Jacqueline says one would be hard pressed to find someone who would say a bad word about her husband.
"He was honest. He was a hard worker. . .a good provider," she explained. "He was just a good person. If he was your friend, you could depend on him."
In addition to his wife, Richard Law is survived by a daughter. The couple was scheduled to take a Christmas vacation that was supposed to start Friday.

Jacqueline and Richard were actually scheduled to go on Christmas vacation this week.
"We were going on a 14-day cruise so that's not going to happen now," Jacqueline said.
Now she has to plan Richard's funeral while trying to move forward during the holiday season. It's going to be an especially tough task without the man she loved.
Jacqueline Law: "He was my hero; he was my lover, my husband, my friend. He was somebody who could be depended on and he was the love of my life."
