BRADENTON (FOX 13) -

A red-light runner triggered a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning that sent a Bradenton motorcycle rider to the hospital with serious injuries.

Norman E. White, 54, was transported to Blake Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. The incident occurred just after 11 a.m. at the intersection of 15th St. East and 30th Ave. East in Bradenton.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report White was stopped for a traffic light heading east on 30th Ave. East when the light turned green. A 2012 Dodge Caravan driven by Roger Darling failed to stop for the red light and struck White's 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

White, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected into the windshield of Darling's van and then onto the pavement.

Darling, 39, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Lakewood Ranch Regional Medical Center. Two children – ages 10 and 14 – also suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Darling was issued a citation for failing to stop for the traffic light.
