TAMPA (FOX 13) -

If you're picking up friends or family at Tampa International Airport over the holidays, don't plan on sitting and waiting in the terminal pickup lanes. Instead, the airport is hoping you'll use the cell phone waiting lot, and they're using food trucks and free wifi to entice you.

Starting Thursday, you won't be able to park your car and wait for your passenger in the baggage claim arrival lanes at the terminal. Only active loading will be allowed.

The changes have been in effect during some high-capacity times, but now it will be an all-day policy.

The nearby cell phone waiting lot offers real-time landing updates on large billboards so you can time your pickup just right. There's also restrooms and vending machines, but if you prefer fresh food, you can take advantage of the food trucks.

The airport just announced that the trucks will be on hand from Tuesday to Friday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

If you don't want to wait in that lot, you can also park in the short-term parking for free, as long as you stay for less than an hour.
