ATLANTA (AP) - A former Atlanta Falcons running
back pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving in DeKalb
County State Court.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/12l20E7
) 39-year-old Jamal Anderson has been sentenced to 12 months of
probation and is ordered to pay a $700 fine stemming from his July 26
DUI arrest.
Police said Anderson was driving slowly and
impeding traffic on Chamblee Tucker Road. After his arrest, Anderson's
attorney Michael Hawkins said Anderson was not drunk, but was tired from
a long day of travel.
Aside from his probation time and the fine, the
newspaper reports Anderson is ordered to complete 64 hours of community
service, participate in a defensive driving course and attend a panel on
the impacts of drunk driving.
Anderson played for the Falcons between 1994 and 2001.
