ATLANTA -
Habitat for Humanity has rolled out a new effort to help Superstorm Sandy victims.
Twenty-four mobile response units left Atlanta early Monday. They are on their way to New York and New Jersey to help build and repair homes destroyed by Sandy.
Thousands of people are still in desperate need of housing.
This is the first time Habitat for Humanity launched the response units to help storm victims. The mobile response units made a pit stop in Charlotte, N.C., where General Motors and Bosch loaded them with tools and equipment for the repair work.
