Burglar awaiting prison caught again

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

An upstate man waiting to start a prison sentence for a series of burglaries was arrested for another burglary.

The New York State Police say that Vincent Poliandro, 29, was out on bail waiting commencement of a 9 to 11 year prison sentence after pleading guilty to several burglaries.

Troopers arrested Poliandro in connection with a Wappinger burglary on Thursday.

They saw him walking in and out of wooded areas dressed in dark clothing.  Troopers say Poliandro's clothing was blood stained and his hands were cut and bloodied.

Troopers responding to a nearby burglary scene noticed broken glass and blood at the scene.  A canine unit tracked from the residence, through some wooded areas, and ending where troopers stopped Poliandro.

Police say Poliandro also had evidence linking him to the burglarized home.

Poliandro was arraigned and sent to the Dutchess County jail without bail.  His original sentencing is being revisited and could be jacked up to 30 years in prison.
