It was a day to rush to the altar or hope for a trip to the hospital. December 12, 2012, or 12-12-12, is the last sequential date in this century.
But Gina Anderson had no plans to have her first baby on 12-12-12.
"My due date was December 17th, " she explained.
But Wednesday morning, she woke up at 3 a.m.
"It hurt so bad. I came in because I was having contractions," she said.
At 7:08 a.m. Nevaeh was born.
"She was five pounds, seven ounces, and 19 inches," she said.
Astrologers believe being born on the this date means prosperity for the newborn. Gina is excited she has this special birthday,
"She's a blessed baby. She's just blessed to be here on this day," she said.
And while it's pretty cool to be born on 12-12-12, Margaux Hall of Lakeland is celebrating another milestone on this day.
"So, it's December 12th, 2012 and I am turning 12, today," Margaux said.
Twelve years ago, she missed her original due date of December 7th.
But now is glad she did.
"I think it's really special, because not a lot of people have it," Margaux said.
Her mom Charlotte has been thinking of this special day for the past 10 years. After realizing she would turn 12 today, she started planning just how to mark the celebration.
Charlotte decided to do the 12 days of "birthday"
"So I gave her a birthday present that contained the number of days left until her actual birthday," Charlotte said.
"The first day, I got a string of lights with 10 twinkling stars. They're in my room now. The second day, it was nine hair clips," Margaux said.
By day four, her mom surprised her with a four-legged friend, Cooper, a Doxiepoo -- a Dachshund Poodle mix.
Then today, her final present.
Margaux opened a big box, which held a pink laptop, as she yelled out,
"I love it, best birthday ever!"
It's a birthday she'll never forget.
"I just think it'll be a memory that can last forever," her mom said.
