They will be 8,000 strong, riding on motorcycles, in cars and in trucks to escort an honored cargo from Lakeland to the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell this weekend. Many will be veterans; all are supporters of the military.
Early Saturday morning, supporters will bring thousands of wreaths to lay on the graves of military personnel. The graves of the men and women who died in Iraq and Afghanistan will be the first to be decorated.
It is part of a national program called Wreaths Across America. Similar processions and ceremonies will be held across the country at the same time.
In our area, Saddle Creek Logistics Services is a big supporter. The company warehoused the wreath, which just arrived from Maine. They also raised money.
"Most people have a tie to the military, whether that be a parent a grandparent, a sister, a brother. Anyone I have run into has been more than willing to donate a wreath," Becki Smith, a Saddle Creek employee told FOX 13.
