Bondi bans more synthetic drugs

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Attorney General Pam Bondi is continuing her push against synthetic drugs, outlawing 22 more types of drugs that similar to the popular K2 and Spice.

It's been a battle lawmakers have taken on over the last few months, and authorities are trying to stay ahead of manufacturers who continue to change ingredients in synthetic drugs to dodge the law.

But Bondi says she won't stop until she bans all possible combinations permanently.

"I can tell you one thing: If you're a convenience store and you're selling this stuff and you know it's illegal, you take it off your shelves when you see police officers and you put it back on, we're coming after you and we will put you out of business and we will do everything in our power to put you out of business because you're no better than a common street-level drug dealer," Bond said.

The emergency order makes it a third-degree felony to sell, make, deliver or possess these drugs.
