A Salvation Army bell ringer in Lehigh Acres found a rare gold coin in his kettle this weekend, and it's not the first time it's happened.
The mystery of the holiday gold coin has been ongoing for eight years. In all those years, someone has placed a gold coin inside a Lehigh Acres Salvation Army pot.
It always comes wrapped inside a note that says "in loving memory of Mimi." The coin is very rare and is worth about $1,700.
Salvation Army officials say they're very thankful for the gift each year, but still very curious, thanking the mystery donor of the "Mimi coin."
They say they'd just like to thank them for their gift.
