BRADENTON (FOX 13) -

A 51-year-old Bradenton man is facing a variety of charges following a road rage incident Sunday morning in Manatee County.

Mark Steven Shapiro was booked into the Manatee County Jail where he is being held without bond.

According to a MCSO report David Cadmus was traveling west in the 8100 block of State Road 70s in his GMC Sports Utility Vehicle just after midnight when the incident occurred.

His wife Ronisue Cadmus was in the passenger seat the report states. David noticed a white Dodge Challenger approaching him from behind at a high rate of speed.

Both vehicles stopped for a red light. When the light turned green, Cadmus and the Challenger continued west on SR 70.

At that point Shapiro allegedly put up next to Cadmus' vehicle and pointed a silver firearm at him. Shapiro fired several shots while the vehicles were in motion.

Fortunately nobody was hit and Shapiro drove away. He was later identified as the shooter, located and arrested.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, one count of discharging a firearm from a vehicle and one count of operating a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.

Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues. If you have any additional information about this case please contact the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at 941-747-3011.
