Deputies arrest Sarasota man on armed robbery charges
Investigators say Emerson, 19, was identified the victim. He was arrested at his Sarasota home without incident on Friday.
SARASOTA (FOX 13) -
A 19-year-old Sarasota man already on felony probation was arrested Friday on armed robbery charges.
Max Patrick Vernon Emerson was booked into the Sarasota County Jail. He is being held without bond.
According to a Sarasota County Sheriff's Office report the suspect robbed a woman at knifepoint at the ATM machine at a Bank of America location on December 1st.
Surveillance cameras captured Emerson walking away from the crime scene. A short time later surveillance cameras show him walking into the Macy's store at the Westfield Sarasota Square.
Emerson was identified as the man seen on tape by the victim, his employer and a former co-worker. He was apprehended at taken into custody at his Sarasota home Friday afternoon.
At the time of this arrest Emerson was on felony probation for a conviction out of Hillsborough County. In July he was arrested by Tampa Police on burglary, grand theft, petit theft and dealing in stolen property charges.
On Wednesday Emerson was sentenced to four years and two months of community supervision following his conviction on those charges. Before this latest brush with law enforcement the suspect was scheduled to be on felony probation until December 2016.
