A 37-year-old woman in Hernando County has been arrested after she admitted to injecting a 16-year-old with pain killers.
The sheriff's office says Meghan Hughes-White, a transient, injected the drugs Dilaudid and Methadone into the arm of the victim in May at a Days Inn on Windmere Road in Brooksville.
Deputies had been investigating the case for months, but just arrested Hughes-White. She's charged with child abuse with great bodily harm.
Deputies say she admitted to injecting the teen with the drugs. The victim told investigators that before the injection, Hughes-White told them "you do not know what you are missing by not injecting Dilaudid."
At last check, she had not posted bond.
