ATLANTA -
The lawyer for a man accused of gunning down a Georgia woman after his motorized wheelchair and her car bumped into each other at a gas station said he never intended to hurt anyone.
Defense attorney Veronica Brinson tells The Associated Press that 73-year-old Frank Louis Reeves didn't mean to harm anyone.
Reeves faces a murder charge. He's accused of killing 65-year-old Linda Hunnicutt during a random encounter at a Macon gas station Tuesday.
Police said Hunnicutt stepped from her vehicle, and a man in a motorized wheelchair shot her in the chest. She died despite the frantic efforts of a crowd of people working to revive her.
Brinson said in a statement to the AP earlier Thursday that her client hopes Hunnicutt's family can grieve in peace.
