Pinellas to consider domestic partner registry

Pinellas County commissioners will consider a domestic partnership registry Thursday.

It would be open to straight and gay couples who live together and are 18 or older.

It would allow unmarried couples to legally visit each other in the hospital and make health care decisions and funeral arrangements.

Several cities in Pinellas County already have a similar registry, along with the city of Tampa.
