ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) -

A second man has been arrested in connection with a shooting over the weekend that left two people hospitalized in critical condition.

Deputies arrested 24-year-old Damian William Blanchard.

The first suspect, 55-year-old Francis James Bahr, was arrested Saturday and made his first appearance in court Sunday.

Detectives say Blanchard and Bahr were roommates in the mobile home. They say before the shooting, Blanchard called the victims, Rosa Pereira and David Sharp, out of their home, and Bahr shot them.

Blanchard is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Blanchard's father, Rodney Blanchard, was arrested Monday on animal cruelty charges. Investigators say they found four kittens in plastic bags in his freezer. One was dead, the three others were taken to the Pinellas SPCA.
