Authorities say one person was killed in an early-morning house fire in Lilburn.
LILBURN, Ga. -
Gwinnett County fire investigators are trying to determine what sparked a deadly house fire in Lilburn early Monday morning.
Crews say the home on Edith Lane NW was engulfed in flames when they arrived. They say the fire was so intense that they initially had to fight the flames from outside. When they were able to get in, they found the victim in a corner room.
Fire investigators say there are no signs of foul play at this point in the investigation.
The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 50-year-old John Hamilton. They said he died of smoke inhalation.
