Morales was booked into the Manatee County Jail and released after posting bond.
BRADENTON (FOX 13) -
A 39-year-old Bradenton man was arrested early Saturday on driving under the influence charges after he struck a parked Manatee County deputy's cruiser.
Lauro Morales was booked into the Manatee County Jail and released on a bond of $3,500.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:20 a.m. in the 2900 block of 9th St. West in Bradenton.
According to a MCSO report deputies were assisting the Florida Highway Patrol at a crash site when Morales approached in his Toyota.
The deputy heard the vehicle approaching and quickly exited the cruiser to hail the driver to slow down. Unfortunately it was too late and Morales struck the cruiser.
The damage was minor to the deputy's vehicle, which had its lights flashing when it was hit. A sobriety test was conducted and the suspect was charged with driving under the influence.
Neither Morales nor the deputy were injured.
