The suspect fled the scene on foot heading north according to investigators.LAKELAND (FOX 13) -
Detectives with the Polk County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help in identifying an armed robbery suspect.
On November 24th the suspect robbed the Holiday Inn Express location at 5400 Lakeland Park Dr. in Lakeland.
He made off with an undisclosed amount of money just after 6:30 p.m. investigators say.
According to a Polk County Sheriff's Office report the unidentified black male was armed with a black folding knife. He allegedly forced the clerk to open the hotel register and fled the scene heading north.
The suspect stands between 5'10'' and 6'1'' tall with a medium build. He was wearing dark clothing and his face was partially covered.
