An act of kindness by a New York City police officer has gone viral. The officer was caught giving a pair of brand new boots to a barefoot homeless man.
The 25-year-old New York police officer, identified as Larry DePrimo, has become an overnight hero and an internet sensation.
A tourist snapped a picture of the officer giving a barefoot homeless man a pair of new boots on a cold night on Times Square. The tourist's photo was posted Tuesday night on the New York Police Department's official Facebook page. By Thursday night it had 420,000 likes and more than 140,000 users had shared it.
