The Florida Highway Patrol has released dashcam video of a trooper firing his gun at a cemetery owner in Pinellas Park last September.
Clifford Work, the owner, was coming out of a garage at the Royal Palm North Cemetery where the trooper had tracked a stolen motorcycle.
According to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement report, Work said he thought he was being robbed, and came out holding his gun at a 45-degree angle.
But Trooper Cole said he thought he saw Work pointing the gun right at him.
The dashcam video shows Trooper Daniel Cole firing at Work. Work was wounded in the leg, but survived.
The dashcam video also shows several officers dragging Work toward the patrol car after he was shot.
The FDLE ruled the shooting was justified; the state attorney's office declined to pursue charges.
