Former coach gets seven years for sex with student

A former coach at George Jenkins High School in Lakeland has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Matt Thompson, 31, will also be on probation as a sexual offender for 20 years.
Investigators say Thompson had sexual contact twice with a former student, a 17-year-old girl. They say it happened after the two had been flirting and texting for about a year.
