Detectives with the Tampa Police Department have released surveillance photos of a man leaving an apartment complex where a security officer was shot to death Wednesday night.

This person of interest was seen riding a bicycle away from the murder scene of Michael Valentin.

Investigators are asking for the public's assistance in identifying this man so they can talk to him about the shooting.

According to a TPD report officers were dispatched to the Grande Oaks Apartment complex in the 2400 block of East Hanna Ave. just before 8 p.m. Wednesday in response to a shots fired call.

Valentin, 38, worked for Critical Intervention Services and was on duty at the complex when he was killed. The victim is survived by a wife and two young children. He began working for CIS last month according to a statement issued by the company.

If you have any information about this case or known the identity of the man on the bicycle, please contact TPD at 231-6130.
