If you know Tampa, you've no doubt taken a stroll down Bayshore Boulevard. The street connects South Tampa with downtown.
It's also the street where Jill Kelley lives and where, over the past few weeks, media from around the country has converged in the wake of the CIA sex scandal.
In the months leading up to the Republican National Convention, the city spent $617,000 to spruce up the area. Most of the money was used to buy plants and shrubs.
Records provided to FOX 13 from the city indicate $99,000 was spent on 44 Sylvester Date Palm trees. Some of the trees blew over when Tropical Storm Debby breezed through and had to be fitted with new braces.
Another large expense was Confederate Jasmine. The city purchased 6,453 three-gallon plants at a cost of $58,077. The city says the unit price includes labor.
