You arrive at Tampa International Airport. Your bags are packed, you're on time, and the kids are in order.
Everything is going well – until you see your flight is delayed.
At TIA, you won't have to sweat it. You'll find plenty to do before your flight.
"If they come here, this is a good place to wait," said Angelo Mottola of the Hillsborough Aviation Authority. "It's a great airport."
Whether it's eat, sleep, drink or shop, there's plenty of places – even a museum.
"We have a rotating art exhibit by the Marriot," Mottola said. "And all over the airport you notice local artists and fantastic art."
Perhaps the worst part of a delayed flight is dealing with the kids. How do you entertain them for an hour or two?
TIA has that covered. In the shopping area of the main terminal, one store has Legos on display. It's a great time killer. On the ninth floor of the parking garage, you can take the kids to watch the planes take off and land.
Downstairs at the baggage terminal the Florida Aquarium has a beautiful display, and outside a nice park area where they can run off that energy.
There's plenty of playtime for adults, too. Local restaurants and stores have setup shop.
No one likes waiting for a flight, but there are worse things.
You could be stuck waiting for a flight someplace else.
