Stores are doing anything they can to get you to visit them this week.
In some cases, that means opening on Thanksgiving Day. Ready or not, it's here. People have been lined up for days to start their Black Friday shopping.
You can bet workers inside are getting ready, too. Work is going to take over a lot of their Thanksgiving dinners
"I think it's gotten a little bit crazy, especially when you have some businesses actually opening on midnight on Thanksgiving Day so you have people that have to work pretty much on the holiday," said Nick Garcia.
George Casalis will be on the clock.
"I work in retail," he said.
Like so many others, on Thanksgiving he will be stocking shelves and preparing racks for Black Friday crowds.
"I think it's worth it to go to work, and then the afternoon go spend time with the family," Casalis said.
It's unacceptable, according to people who've signed online petitions at change.org. They are outraged that some stores open as early as Thanksgiving night this year.
"I don't think it's great that they are starting on Thanksgiving," Amanad Uliano said. "I think it takes away a lot from the holiday of Thanksgiving for us so the more you encroach on that the worse it gets."
Some shoppers vow to step away from stores on principal and the sake of tradition.
"Not on Thanksgiving, no. That's the time we hang out with friends," Rainjan Gorg-Marx said.
"I'm not sure if I'm going to go out this year," Uliano said.
In some cases, the stores decide for them. Publix takes a stance to shut down on Thanksgiving.
"That's great. I think they should be. Everyone should be with their families," said Caroline Medina.
Even so, she may do a little shopping this holiday with her family.
"I now take advantage on Thursday night, but I would be perfectly fine doing it on a Friday," she said.
Stores are creeping their Black Friday opening up a little each year. Last year, stores like Target opened at midnight on Thursday.
This year it's opening at 9 p.m. Walmart will open at 8.
