The family of a boy struck and killed by lightning in Fort Myers is now suing over his death.
Jesse Watlington, 11, was killed last month when he was struck by lightning during football practice. Now, his family is suing Watlington's school and the church that runs it.
They claim the church was negligent for allowing students to practice during a storm and having coaches who did not know CPR.
They also say there was no lightning detection device on the field that day.
"We've had people come forward and tell us that it was their offices turned off and that was very disturbing to find that out," said Chuck Watlington, Jesse's father.
After the tragedy, the church also setup a fund to raise money for the Walington family, but the family claims "not all funds were accounted for."
The pastor of the church had no comment.
