PLANT CITY (FOX 13) -
A bicyclist was struck and killed in Plant City Monday afternoon.
It happened along Highway 39 near Trapnell Road.
The southbound lanes of Highway 39 are closed while police investigate.
They say it appears a driver veered into the shoulder of the road and ran into the back of the bicycle.
The bicyclist died at the scene from his injuries, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
The name of the bicyclist has not been released.
There's no word yet whether the driver will face charges.
