People started lining
up as early as 4 a.m. to get one of 1,000 turkeys given away Monday at a local
law firm.
The annual tradition of
putting food on the table continued at Pendas Law Firm on MLK, where they gave
away turkeys to the first 1,000 people in line.
"Many have shared their
stories, and they've told me without (our) help they would not be able to feed
their family," said Lou Pendas. "They give me hugs. They give me many thanks
and kisses, and it's really humbling. It's an amazing experience."
The Pendas law firm
first started giving away the turkeys about four years ago.
This year, Pendas said
he had to turn away hundreds of people, and he wishes he could do more.
